As we close out another fantastic season, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible achievements of our Natives netball family. Each and every player, coach, umpire and supporter has contributed to the success of our club this year, bringing energy, passion and sportsmanship to the court week after week. While every member of our club is valued, our 2024 Presentation Dinner gives us the chance to shine a spotlight on some standout individuals whose dedication and performance deserves special recognition.


These awards highlight those who have shown exceptional skill, leadership and commitment to both the game and the club, and we are so proud of our nominees.


Junior Sportsperson of the Year

This award recognises a young player who has displayed outstanding ability, dedication and sportsmanship throughout the season. Their growth and contribution to their team make them a role model for their peers.


Nominees:

Hayley Clarey (Division 8 Toucans), Bree Cooper (Division 8 Toucans), Neiva Appo (Division 8 Toucans), Ava Medley (Division 10 Lorikeets), Evelyn Ferguson (Division 5 Hawks), Georgia Levi (Division 5 Hawks), Isabella Pohlman (Division 5 Hawks).


Recipient:

Ffion Spruce-Williams (Division 8 Toucans)


Intermediate Sportsperson of the Year

This award recognises a player who has consistently performed at a high level while demonstrating respect, integrity and team spirit. They have a wonderful attitude and are an inspiration to their peers and others.

Caley Blaine (Division 3 Rosellas), Reese Aylett (Division 3 Rosellas), Lily Prada-Tiger (Division 2 Firebirds), Oliva Creighton (Division 6 Kingfishers), Michaela Toby (Division 6 Kingfishers), Kyja Taylor (Division 5 Haws).


Recipient:

Sienna Nagas (Division 2 Firebirds)


Senior Sportsperson of the Year

This award recognises a player over the age of 18 who has gone above and beyond, not only in their skills on the court but also in their leadership and support of others.


Nominees:

Lily Austin (Division 2 Eagles), Emily McLucas (Division 2 Eagles), Emma Stack (Division 3 Rosellas).


Recipient:

Soraya Lynch (Division 3 Rosellas)


Ladies Sportsperson of the Year

This award recognises a player who exemplifies the spirit of competition and camaraderie; a player who leads by example, both in her performance and her respect for the game.


Nominees:

Mel Stack (Masters Swans), Maddie Muller (Masters Macaws), Anna Land (Masters Macaws).


Recipient:

Erin McCabe (Masters Swans)


Junior Umpire of the Year

This award recognises the hard work, growth and professionalism of a young umpire who has shown great promise in officiating games with fairness and integrity.


Nominees:

Reese Aylett (Division 3 Rosellas), Olivia Creighton (Division 6 Kingfishers), Sienna Baigrie (Division 2 Eagles).


Recipient:

Ella Cislowski (Division 3 Rosellas)


Coach of the Year

This award recognises a coach who has made a significant impact on their team through guidance, encouragement and expertise. Their dedication to player development and the club's values shines through in every training session and game.


Nominees:

Mel Stack (Division 3 Rosellas), Rachel Medley (Division 10 Lorikeets), Kaylah Parker and Kelli Smith (Division 2 Firebirds), Kaylah Parker (Division 2 Firebirds), Steph Cunningham (Division 8 Toucans).


Recipient:

Jayden Collin (Division 6 Kingfishers)


Supporter of the Year

This award celebrates the dedication and enthusiasm of a supporter who has been a constant presence at games and club events, cheering on our players and contributing to the vibrant community spirit that makes Natives so special.


Nominees:

Penny Levi (Uniform Convenor), Marion Lovett (Masters Macaws), Janet Hunt (Division 8 Toucans).


Recipient:

Becky Spruce (Division 8 Toucans)


Club Person of the Year

This award recognises an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the club as a whole. Whether through volunteering, supporting others, or helping behind the scenes, this person truly represents the heart of Natives Netball.


Nominees:

Kris Clarey (Umpire), Mel Stack (Coach, Player, Umpire), Soraya Lynch (Division 3 Rosellas).

Team Spirit Award

In its inaugural year, the Team Spirit Award celebrates an entire team that has consistently demonstrated outstanding camaraderie, positivity and support, both on and off the court. This award recognises a team whose unity, encouragement and inclusive attitude have set a shining example for the erst of the club.
